Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) S. Rashmi Perumal, IPS, chaired the session on August 25 at her office. Officials present included the Additional DCP, ACPs from Gopalapuram, Mahankali, Begumpet, and Trimulgherry, SHOs, North Zone Control Inspector, and over 70 Peace Committee members.

The team reviewed past issues and laid out steps to handle the citywide festivities more effectively this year.

Ganesh Festival 2025 security plan covers safety checks and community support

Officials stressed the need for eco-friendly clay idols and online registration for all Ganesh pandals. Organisers must share full details of volunteers and undergo background checks.

Police instructed all pandals to follow fire and electrical safety norms and avoid flammable materials. They also warned against blocking roads or public spaces during idol installations.

To boost coordination, the police will hold joint meetings with all stakeholders at the police station and division levels. They also reminded organisers about height limits for idols and safer immersion options like baby ponds.

Other key steps include 24/7 volunteer presence, installing CCTVs and fire extinguishers, sound system checks, and keeping the area clean. Cultural events must end on time. Officers also said they would stop fireworks and restrict miscreants during processions.

Police finalised traffic control plans and vehicle arrangements for idol immersions.

The meeting ended with a pledge by police and Peace Committee members to work together for a safe and peaceful Ganesh Festival 2025.
