Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police have begun using the new “TG” code on all department vehicles, replacing the earlier “TS” stickers as per official orders from the Telangana government.
Director General and Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand directed the change across the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate. Accordingly, all stickers reading “Telangana State Police” were removed and replaced with new “Telangana Police” versions bearing the updated TG identification.
To carry out the change, CAR Headquarters officials coordinated work on 188 government vehicles. This included removing old stickers and applying the new ones. The total cost of the project was approximately ₹1.6 crore.

As part of the process, the department also polished all vehicles using machines. Wherever needed, teams performed denting and painting on doors, bumpers, and panels to restore the vehicles to good condition.
Officials completed the stickering process on 134 patrol vehicles, which have since been re-commissioned for active service. These vehicles will continue supporting law enforcement, rapid response, and crime prevention across Hyderabad.
Other police vehicles – including those assigned to Traffic ACPs, Inspectors, Pilots, and Interceptors – will undergo the same update soon. Additionally, clear instructions have been issued to all drivers regarding cleanliness and maintenance.
CAR Headquarters officials led the initiative and monitored the entire process.
