Hyderabad: Commissioner C.V. Anand chaired a review meeting on Monday to assess Ganesh idol immersion security. The meeting, held at the East Zone DCP office in Amberpet, brought together senior officials from both East and South East Zones.
Commissioner Anand instructed officers to enforce law and order throughout the festivities. He urged close coordination to avoid any untoward incidents. To prevent thefts of offerings like ‘laddus’ from Ganesh idols, he stressed the importance of continuous vigilance by local police and volunteers.
He also directed officials to monitor the movements of known troublemakers and individuals with criminal backgrounds. Idol processions arriving from areas such as the Rachakonda Commissionerate must receive a proper police escort.
In addition, the Commissioner advised organizers and volunteers to stay with the idols overnight to ensure safety. The meeting also reviewed past immersion issues and laid out a plan to expedite this year’s process.
DCP East Zone B. Balaswamy, DCP South East Zone S. Chaitanya Kumar, DCP S.B. Apoorva Rao, Additional DCP East Zone Narasaiah, Additional DCP South East Zone Srikanth, and Additional DCP Task Force Ande Srinivasa Rao were among the key officials present. Inspectors from both zones also participated.
