Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police have warned citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious online links or calls. Officers said cybercriminals are using fake apps and deceptive links to steal money and personal data.
Hyderabad Police warn against growing cyber scams
Officials said fraudsters often send links through messages or social media. They pretend to offer part-time jobs, parcel tracking, or customer care help. When users click such links or install unverified apps, scammers gain access to personal and bank details.
The Cybercrime Department advised citizens not to share OTPs or financial details with unknown callers. Police stressed that no genuine organisation asks for sensitive information through calls or links.
Citizens urged to stay cautious online
Officials urged people to check every link and call before responding. They asked citizens to download apps only from official stores. Victims of online fraud can report cases on www.cybercrime.gov.in
or at the nearest police station.
Police said awareness and alertness can prevent online crimes. They reminded the public that vigilance is the best protection against cyber fraud.
