Hyderabad: The skies finally cracked open Thursday morning – and with it, a wave of relief swept across the heat-stricken city.
Hyderabad, baking for days under harsh summer sun, woke up to a solid downpour that lasted nearly an hour and a half. The rain kicked off around 7:30am and held steady till close to 9.
It wasn’t just a drizzle. Old City got drenched. So did Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Mehdipatnam, Lallaguda, Secunderabad, Khairatabad, S.R. Nagar, Sanathnagar, Erragadda – you name it. But as always, rain meant chaos for office-goers. Waterlogging, slow traffic, wet shoes, missed buses – the usual mess.
Elsewhere in Telangana, it was the same story. Medak, Sangareddy, and Vikarabad districts reported early showers too. While city dwellers welcomed the cooldown, farmers in those rural belts weren’t exactly thrilled. Sudden rain threw a wrench into sowing plans, fieldwork – you get the idea.
