Hyderabad Police seize 30 kg ganja, arrest three in Task Force raid

HYDERABAD: Acting on credible information about illegal ganja sales, the Task Force Additional DCP Ande Srinivas Rao stated that police conducted a raid on a house in Hussaini Alam, leading to the seizure of 30 kg of ganja and the arrest of three individuals.

According to the Additional DCP, the prime accused, Mohammad Yasin, a native of Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, has been involved in ganja supply for financial gains. Despite previous arrests and jail time, he continued his illicit trade. After being released from prison, he moved to Murghi Chowk, Hussaini Alam, Hyderabad, where he took a salon on lease as a front for his activities. As the salon earnings were insufficient, he resumed ganja trafficking.

Yasin collaborated with his old associates, Gopal and Uttam from Odisha, to purchase 30 kg of ganja, which they brought to Hyderabad. Their plan was to sell the contraband to a man named Kishan from Dhoolpet.

Upon receiving reliable intelligence, the South East Task Force Police, along with Hussaini Alam Police, raided Yasin’s residence. During the operation, police seized 30 kg of ganja, arrested Yasin, Gopal, and Uttam, and recovered four mobile phones and a two-wheeler. However, Kishan managed to escape and is currently absconding.

The raid was conducted under the supervision of South East Zone Task Force Inspector S. Saidababu, along with Hussaini Alam Inspector Surender and Sub-Inspectors P. Sai Ram and M. Madhu.
