Hyderabad: In Saidabad, a 16-year-old boy took his life shortly after his mother reprimanded him for spending too much time on mobile games instead of studying.
The boy had recently failed his Class 10 exams and had reportedly been playing on his phone for hours each day. His mother, upset over his slipping academics, confronted him about it.
Later that day, he went up to the terrace of their building. Moments later, he was gone.
Police responded soon after being informed. A case has been registered, and the body was sent for post-mortem. Investigators are now working to understand the sequence of events.
The incident has cast a heavy mood over the area. For many, it’s another painful reminder of the emotional pressure teens are under—and how quietly digital habits can spiral into something much deeper.
