Hyderabad traffic police clear footpath encroachments under Operation Rope

Hyderabad: Hyderabad traffic police on Friday cleared several footpath encroachments in SR Nagar as part of Operation Rope. The special drive aimed to make pedestrian movement safer and keep walkways free from obstruction.

Additional DCP (Traffic) Venugopal Reddy led the operation under the direction of Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Joel Davis and DCP Rahul Hegde. Moreover, Traffic SIs Nagaraju and Rambabu, along with Inspector Srinivasulu Reddy, joined the team during the inspection.

Operation Rope focuses on public walkway safety

Police teams removed illegal extensions and barriers from footpaths in BK Guda, SR Nagar, and Ameerpet. In addition, they targeted hotels and commercial units that blocked pedestrian paths, forcing people onto busy roads. As a result, several obstructions were dismantled, and owners were cautioned not to repeat such violations.

Speaking at the site, Additional DCP Venugopal Reddy said the department would not tolerate any encroachment that troubles the public. Therefore, he urged citizens to follow traffic rules and act responsibly toward pedestrians.

Strict enforcement to reduce traffic violations

Reddy reminded motorists to wear helmets at all times. Furthermore, he advised parents to stop minors from driving. Meanwhile, he told riders to avoid using wrong routes, since such actions often cause accidents.

He added that the police would continue strict enforcement across the city. Consequently, those who break traffic rules would face firm legal action. The Additional DCP emphasized that regular drives would continue to ensure road discipline and public safety.
