Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand on Tuesday distributed new traffic kits, including redesigned hats, to personnel of the Hyderabad Traffic Police, aiming to improve their comfort and effectiveness during peak summer conditions.
The updated hats are being introduced to replace the current ones, which were reportedly uncomfortable in high temperatures. The new design focuses on improving usability for officers working under harsh weather conditions.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner Anand commended the traffic personnel for their continuous service and commitment. He encouraged them to maintain high standards of discipline and efficiency in managing the city’s traffic.
As part of enhanced monitoring measures, Anand announced that high-rise surveillance cameras will soon be installed on selected tall buildings across the city. These cameras will help in capturing traffic violations and monitoring traffic flow more effectively.
In addition to fixed surveillance, the Commissioner also revealed that a drone has been allocated to the Hyderabad Traffic Branch. This drone will be used for real-time traffic analysis and monitoring, with the aim of ensuring smoother movement on city roads.
Anand further stated that the department is exploring collaboration with Google to optimise traffic management using digital tools and mapping data, with the goal of providing uninterrupted travel for commuters.
The event was also attended by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Joel Davis, DCP Traffic-I Rahul Hegde B.K., DCP Traffic-II N. Ashok Kumar, and other senior officers of the Hyderabad Traffic Police.
