Hyderabad: A 22-year-old Hyderabad woman missing for a year was found in Mumbai and returned to her family by Meerpet police on Monday.
The woman, a resident of Vinayak Hills in Almasguda under Meerpet police limits, had left home last August following domestic disputes. She departed without informing anyone and did not return. Her family initially searched locally and among relatives but approached police after finding no leads.
Meerpet police registered a case and launched an investigation. The woman had been living and working in Mumbai over the past year. Investigators traced her after learning she was using Snapchat on a colleague’s phone.
Police tracked her location through social media activity and identified her residence in Mumbai. She was located on Sunday and brought to Hyderabad, where she was reunited with her family the next day.
Her family expressed relief at her safe return and thanked Meerpet Inspector Nag Raju and his team for their efforts.
