Hyderabad: HYDRAA officials on Friday carried out demolitions in IS Sadan Krishna Nagar, targeting unauthorised constructions built over stormwater drains. The action followed complaints from local residents about illegal structures obstructing nalas.
Residents had informed Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency ( HYDRAA) that multiple houses were facing flooding during rains due to encroachments on nalas in the area.
Officials conducted a field inspection based on the complaints. They confirmed that several constructions had violated drainage buffer regulations.
Following the inspection, notices were served to the encroachers. Demolition activity was carried out on Friday to remove the illegal structures.
HYDRAA was formed by the Telangana government as a dedicated agency to protect public land, lakes, and nalas across the Greater Hyderabad region.
