Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) carried out a fresh round of demolitions at the Sandhya Convention Centre layout in Gachibowli, targeting unauthorised constructions.
Officials demolished the mini hall and food court structures of the Sandhya Convention Centre, located in Survey Numbers 124 and 127 of Gachibowli. The land, measuring approximately 20 acres, had originally been laid out by the Fertilisers Corporation of India (FCI), with 162 individuals having purchased residential plots within it.
According to complaints lodged by these plot owners, illegal constructions were being undertaken on the layout by the management of Sandhya Convention. They alleged that existing layout features, including internal roads and a park, were encroached upon to erect unauthorised buildings.
In response, HYDRAA officials took action and demolished all constructions found to be built without official approval.
The structures brought down included tin fencing erected across encroached layout areas, three G+2 iron sheds, a mini hall, kitchen areas, and restrooms. Officials confirmed that further illegal constructions on the site would also be removed.
