Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) has decided against any demolition or enforcement action on Owaisi Fatima College, citing humanitarian grounds.
Though the college is located on Full Tank Level (FTL) land, HYDRAA clarified that the institution operates entirely free of cost and caters primarily to poor Muslim women.
According to the agency, over 10,000 students are currently enrolled in the college, which runs without collecting tuition or fees. Given its exclusive focus on the underprivileged, HYDRAA officials stated that the organisation is unable to initiate punitive measures.
They acknowledged that the college serves a vulnerable population and said the administration is weighing the situation from a humanitarian standpoint rather than proceeding strictly by regulatory norms.
