HYDERABAD: HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency) has intensified its focus on addressing public complaints submitted through the Prajavani platform, prioritising resolution on a case-by-case basis. Commissioner A.V. Ranganath conducted extensive field inspections on Thursday, assessing several locations flagged for encroachment and civic violations.

In Patancheru, he inspected a complaint regarding encroachment on the Nakkavagu nala adjacent to Praneeth County. While the nala, along with its buffer zone, is supposed to span 36 metres in width, nearly half the space was found to be encroached. The commissioner directed the concerned parties to submit documents related to construction approvals and issued orders for removal of encroachments if the nala width does not meet regulatory standards.

Responding to another complaint from Masid Banda area regarding unauthorised claims over Jangankunta, Ranganath conducted a site visit. In Kishtareddy Peta, under the jurisdiction of Ameenpur Municipality, he investigated reports of encroachments on government land. He reassured residents who have already built homes that there was no need for concern, while affirming that further encroachments would be strictly prevented.

The commissioner urged locals to immediately report any misuse or illegal activity under the guise of HYDRAA operations.

Later, Ranganath inspected the Food Corporation of India layout in Gachibowli, where internal roads and parks were allegedly erased and commercially exploited under the pretext of “convention centres”. He also visited Neknampur, where complaints were raised about a wall obstructing the road under high-tension power lines. Further checks were carried out on reports of park and public utility land encroachments within the Neknampur layout, as well as alleged illegal occupation of government land in Survey No. 20 of Neknampur, Gandipet mandal.

The inspection concluded at Gandipet Lake, where Ranganath examined complaints regarding sewage inflow from Khanapur and Nagulapalli areas via the Bulkapur nala. He instructed officials to ensure that no untreated wastewater from nearby residences, commercial complexes, or resorts enters the lake. He also directed the diversion and containment of sewage through proper infrastructure to prevent further contamination.
