Hyderabad: HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency) continued its crackdown on land grabbers across the city. The agency, formed to protect government land, lakes, tanks, and parks, seized government property worth ₹750 crore in Banjara Hills.
Officials said HYDRAA teams cleared encroachments over five acres on Shaikpet mandal’s Banjara Hills Road No. 10. They recovered 1.20 acres already reserved for the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. A man named Parthasarathi had fenced the entire five-acre plot, stationed guards and dogs, and built sheds to assert control. Residents complained that he obstructed the water-reservoir works and drank on the site.
Hydraa reclaims government land after fake survey number misuse
HYDRAA found that Parthasarathi used a fake survey number (403/52) to justify his claim. Revenue and Water Board officers filed four criminal cases against him at Banjara Hills Police Station. Acting swiftly, HYDRAA officers reached the site with police protection and JCB machines. They removed all fences and sheds, secured the land, and installed boards marking it as government property.
Officials said the agency will continue its operations to free all public lands in Hyderabad from illegal occupation.
