Hyderabad: A Hyderabad-bound Indigo flight made an emergency return to Tirupati after developing a technical fault shortly after take-off.
The aircraft lifted off from Renigunta airport and reported a malfunction within minutes. The pilot circled mid-air for nearly 40 minutes, awaiting landing clearance, before safely touching down back in Tirupati.
Indigo cancelled the service after ground crews confirmed a technical snag. With no alternate flight arranged, stranded passengers staged a protest at the terminal, demanding transport to Hyderabad.
Indigo issued a statement offering full refunds, but passengers said the airline failed to make immediate arrangements, leaving them stuck at the airport for hours.
