Hyderabad: The Indiramma housing scheme reached a new milestone this week as the Telangana government released ₹252.87 crore to beneficiaries — the highest amount paid in a single week. Officials transferred the funds directly into the bank accounts of 22,305 beneficiaries, depending on their stage of house construction.
In six months, the government has spent ₹2,233.21 crore under the scheme to support house building across the state. By releasing payments every Monday, the state has helped speed up construction at the ground level.
Record payments push housing progress
About 2.18 lakh houses are now under construction across Telangana. Out of the total payments, ₹1,439.63 crore went to 1,43,963 houses that reached the basement stage, ₹462.06 crore to 46,206 houses at the roof stage, and ₹331.52 crore to 16,576 houses that completed the slab stage.
Officials said the record disbursal shows the scheme’s steady progress and wide reach. Regular payments have encouraged beneficiaries to work faster and complete their homes on time.
