Hyderabad: The Telangana government has introduced a new system in the Indiramma housing scheme to improve transparency and involve beneficiaries directly. Under the revised procedure, beneficiaries can now upload photographs of house construction progress to generate bills for fund release.
Housing Corporation Managing Director V.P. Gautam announced the decision during a video conference with MPDOs, municipal commissioners, project directors and other officials on Thursday. He said the measure would ensure timely payments to beneficiaries.
Officials must create awareness about the Indiramma Indlu mobile application so that beneficiaries can use it effectively. The app offers universal search access to beneficiary details and payment history, which can be viewed from any location.

Explaining the new process, Gautam said beneficiaries can upload photographs at each stage of construction — from grounding to completion — directly through the app. The system will generate bills and clear them within 15 days, crediting funds to beneficiaries’ accounts.
The government implemented the system across the state on Thursday. MPDOs, municipal commissioners and Housing Corporation staff have been asked to extend full support for smooth application use.
During the conference, officials demonstrated how photographs with geo-tagging could be uploaded from construction sites at different stages — grounding, basement, walling, slab laying and completion. Beneficiaries must also submit location details through the app.
Field-level staff such as village secretaries, MPDOs, DEEs and project directors will verify the images and approve the bills.
Housing Corporation Chief Engineer M. Chaitanya Kumar, Superintending Engineer Bhaskara Reddy and General Manager Mamata also attended the meeting.
