Hyderabad: Steady inflows have begun entering the Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar reservoirs following overnight rainfall across upstream catchment areas in Chevella, Tandur, Vikarabad, and Moinabad.
According to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB), inflows reached Osman Sagar through the Musi River from surrounding villages including Shankarpally, Mominpally, and Dobi Peta.
Himayat Sagar is receiving inflows via the Esi River, originating from Chevella, Kotwal Peta, Andapur, Narkuda, and Moinabad following Friday night’s downpour.
As of 6 a.m. on July 19, Osman Sagar recorded inflows of 1,250 cusecs, with the reservoir standing at 1782.50 feet (2.440 TMC) against a Full Tank Level (FTL) of 1790.00 feet (3.900 TMC). whereas, Himayat Sagar saw 1,600 cusecs in inflows, bringing the level to 1758.80 feet (2.114 TMC), compared to its FTL of 1763.50 feet (2.970 TMC). No outflow or gate operation has been initiated.
HMWSSB officials are on high alert, closely monitoring levels and issuing precautionary advisories to residents nearby. Emergency response teams remain on standby.
