Hyderabad: The Welfare Department held a high-level meeting to create an integrated software solution for hostel management across all its wings. Sri Sabyasachi Ghosh, IAS, Special Chief Secretary (Welfare), chaired the session. Secretaries of SSCDD, BC Welfare, Minorities Welfare, and Disabled Welfare attended.
Welfare departments plan an integrated software solution
Officials discussed common features of hostel management across departments and outlined the next steps for developing the unified system. They agreed that the software must cover student welfare, residents’ facilities, food services, medical emergencies, inspections, and reporting.
Developers received clear directions on the data and parameters to include in the application. Officials stressed that the system should ensure consistent standards and improve hostel supervision.
Chief Minister’s directive drives digital initiative
The initiative follows the Chief Minister’s directive to design a digital platform that improves the management and monitoring of hostels and residential schools. The upcoming solution aims to deliver real-time information, detailed activity reports, and stronger accountability across departments.
