Inter exam fee hike proposed ahead of 2026 board schedule

Hyderabad: The Telangana Intermediate Board has proposed a ₹100 increase in the annual Inter exam fee for Intermediate students, ahead of the 2026 board exams. Officials have submitted this proposal to the state government, which will determine whether the hike is implemented.

Currently, the examination fee stands at ₹520 for Humanities and ₹750 for Science streams. If approved, the revised fees would reflect the ₹100 increment accordingly. The board cited operational costs and logistical requirements as the basis for the proposal.

Inter exam fee hike part of 2026 board planning

The 2026 Intermediate annual exams are scheduled for the last week of February. The board is considering starting the exams from either February 23 or 25 and has sent two proposed timetables to the government for clearance. Once approved, the official schedule will be released.

An estimated 9 lakh students from both first and second year courses are expected to take part in the examinations.
