Hyderabad: Yemen’s Houthi rebels launched a drone strike on an Israeli airport on Sunday, injuring five people, including a senior civilian. The drone slammed into the passenger terminal, causing smoke and panic among travellers.
According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), the drone could not be identified, and no sirens were activated before impact. Earlier, the air force had intercepted three other drones fired from Yemen.

The attack forced authorities to immediately close the airspace. Security and technical checks were carried out before the airport was reopened with air force clearance.
Israeli Airport Authority later confirmed that inspections were conducted under international standards and declared Ramon Airport safe for operations.
