Hyderabad: Income Tax officials on Thursday raided the Kompally residence of Bhadra Reddy, son of former Telangana minister and MLA CH Malla Reddy. The action follows recent scrutiny of financial transactions linked to Malla Reddy Hospitals and the group’s medical college in Suraram.
The IT department said the raid was prompted by alerts of suspicious high-value cash transactions. A search team arrived at Bhadra Reddy’s residence and began questioning him and his family about recent money flows, both online and in cash.
Officials reportedly seized mobile phones and instructed the family to remain indoors during the search. The department has not disclosed whether any unaccounted assets were seized.
The Malla Reddy family has previously faced enforcement actions, including raids by both the IT department and the Enforcement Directorate, during which unaccounted cash was recovered.
The latest raid comes two days after Bhadra Reddy’s wife, Preethi Reddy, met BJP leaders in Hyderabad. She was also seen in Bonalu festival banners alongside BJP figures. The sequence of events has drawn attention, though officials have not confirmed any political linkage to the operation.
