Hyderabad: Jadcherla MLA Janampalli Anirudh Reddy and Mahbubnagar SP Janaki took part in Ravana Dahanam celebrations at the Degree College Grounds in Jadcherla town on Thursday evening. Large crowds gathered to witness the Dasara event.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Anirudh Reddy said Vijayadashami symbolises the triumph of dharma over adharma and urged people to always walk the path of righteousness. The event featured the burning of a massive Ravana effigy, marking the town’s first large-scale Ravana Dahanam.

Amid loud cheers from townspeople, the MLA lit the giant effigy in the presence of devotees and residents. Organisers arranged the celebrations in a way that allowed the entire town to witness the event. Residents expressed joy and requested that the tradition continue annually.
Municipal chairperson Koneti Pushpalatha, vice-chairman Sarika Rammohan, councillors Chaitanya Chauhan, Ramesh Kummari, Raju, Jyothi, and Satish attended. BRS leaders Badmi Shivakumar and Chaganti Raghu Vamshi also joined the celebrations, along with large numbers of townspeople.
