BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy backs Ashok’s hunger strike for jobless youth

Hyderabad: BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy on Tuesday extended support to trainer Ashok, who has been on a hunger strike for 10 days demanding employment opportunities for the youth. Former MLA Ravindra Nayak also joined him in visiting Ashok and enquired about his condition with attending doctors.

Ashok’s hunger strike has drawn backing from the City Central Library’s unemployed association, which staged a dharna at Osmania Hospital on Monday. During the protest, tensions rose as unemployed youth clashed with police.

Protesters demand talks, job notifications

Protesters said Ashok’s health is deteriorating and accused the state government of ignoring his demands. They called for immediate intervention and warned that if any harm comes to Ashok, the government would bear full responsibility.

They urged authorities to open talks with Ashok and issue pending job notifications without delay. Protesters declared that consequences would be severe if the government continues to neglect the issue.
