Hyderabad: A revenue-sharing dispute between two YouTube partners in Jagtial reached the police after one creator accused his collaborator of taking all the income from their joint song.
Kusumba Madhu, also known as Vivaan, told police that he and Matcha Sagar jointly composed a Telugu song titled “Vennela Eedu Chusi Jaanu” last year. Both agreed to share the revenue equally and uploaded the track on YouTube.
However, Madhu said Sagar later changed the channel password with the help of two others, Jalender and Kalyani. He then diverted the entire income into his personal account. Despite repeated requests, Sagar refused to share the password or the earnings.
Jagtial YouTube revenue dispute under investigation
Madhu approached the Jagtial police and filed a formal complaint. Acting on it, officers registered a case and started verifying transaction records linked to the YouTube account.
Investigators are checking login histories and bank transfers to confirm who controlled the channel. They said further action will follow once they confirm the evidence. Meanwhile, the case drew attention among small digital creators in the region. Many now rely on shared YouTube projects for a steady income, leading to more partnership disputes.
