HYDERABAD: Former BRS MLA Jeevan Reddy appeared before the police on Thursday in connection with a land grabbing case, marking his latest round of questioning at Mokila Police Station.
The former legislator is facing allegations filed in land-related cases at both Chevella and Mokila police stations. On Thursday, he appeared for interrogation at the Mokila station, where police reportedly questioned him and reviewed land documents presented by him.
Jeevan Reddy submitted what he claimed to be the relevant documents pertaining to the disputed land. Sources indicated that the police are currently examining these documents as part of the investigation.
The former MLA had earlier appeared before investigators in the same case, where he maintained that he had not encroached upon any land. He further stated that he had submitted a copy of a Supreme Court order in his favour at the police station as part of his defence.
Speaking to the media on a previous occasion, Jeevan Reddy asserted that he was willing to cooperate with the police and appear for questioning whenever summoned. He alleged that the land grabbing case was politically motivated, claiming that the Congress government had initiated the probe out of political vendetta.
He maintained that the legal proceedings and repeated summons were part of an attempt to target him unjustly due to his association with the previous BRS administration.
