Vijayawada: A trip to Antarvedi beach ended painfully for several tourists on Sunday, after they were stung by venomous sea creatures while wading near the shore.
Locals, including fishermen familiar with the area, said jellyfish and sea dragon fish were most likely to blame, both known to pack a nasty sting. Some visitors developed severe rashes and itching, and a few had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities have since warned people to be careful and avoid spots where jellyfish have been seen in the water.
