Free Treatment AIIMS

Hyderabad: A delegation from the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) met Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Friday, seeking free medical treatment and special facilities for journalists at AIIMS Bhuvanagiri.

Led by TUWJ state general secretary Askani Maruti Sagar, the delegation pointed out that the existing Journalists Health Cards (JHS) are only valid at NIMS and requested their extension to AIIMS. They said this would benefit around 23,000 accredited journalists in the state.

The group also appealed for dedicated medical facilities for journalists at AIIMS, citing the need for improved healthcare access.

Responding to the appeal, Minister Kishan Reddy said the matter was already under consideration and assured the delegation he would raise it with central officials. He also pledged to explore extending similar benefits to differently-abled individuals.
