Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills byelection counting to begin today at 8 a.m. at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Yusufguda, and officials completed all arrangements on Thursday. They planned to open the exercise with postal ballot scrutiny at the DRC centre. Moreover, the teams are prepared to handle votes from 407 polling stations linked to the segment. A total of 58 candidates entered the fray, including Naveen Yadav of the Congress, Maganti Sunitha of the BRS, and Lankala Deepak Reddy of the BJP.

The constituency recorded 48.49 per cent polling from 4,01,365 registered voters, and the seven divisions together logged 1,94,631 votes. Borabanda posted the highest turnout at 55.92 per cent, while Somajiguda registered only 41.99 per cent. Officials arranged 42 counting tables and planned to complete the entire exercise in ten rounds. Furthermore, they assigned 186 members to counting duties. The administration expected the final result by noon and aimed to upload updates on the EC website throughout the process. In addition, the staff installed an LED screen near the venue for media viewing.

Security tightened and sequence fixed for Jubilee Hills byelection counting

Security teams strengthened the stadium zone for the Jubilee Hills byelection counting with 15 platoons and 250 police personnel. They enforced Section 144 around the centre to prevent crowding. District Election Officer R.V. Karnan urged only authorised individuals to approach the venue, and he warned that officials would initiate strict action if anyone disrupted public order.

Each round may take 45 minutes, and the administration completed final training for all counting staff on Thursday. All teams will report to the strong room early on Friday. At 5 a.m., the District Election Officer and the Returning Officer will open the strong room in the presence of the candidates, and they will examine the EVM seals and all related security layers before commencing the counting sequence.
