Hyderabad: As the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign heats up, a parallel movement is drawing public attention. The “I vote for sure My vote, My right, My power” campaign, under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, is seeing enthusiastic participation across the constituency.
To mark the launch, a giant balloon displaying the November 11 poll date in English, Telugu, and Urdu was installed at Krishnakant Park, Yousufguda. The display has become a focal point for voter awareness, visibly reinforcing the message across neighbourhoods.
SVEEP outreach targets all voter groups
District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan is directly overseeing the campaign. He stressed that ethical voting and inclusive participation form the core of the initiative. According to him, first-time voters and youth are key to building a stronger democracy.
SVEEP activities at Sarada Degree College for Women in Yellareddyguda and Chunav Pathshalas in Rahmathnagar and Shaikpet have engaged a wide cross-section of residents. These include students, women, and older citizens. Demonstrations of EVMs and VVPATs, along with voter helpline and cVIGIL app sessions, are demystifying the election process for many.
Games and radio talks boost awareness
To further simplify voter education, campaign organisers have adopted interactive formats like the “Snake and Ladder – Journey of Democracy” board game. This method, in addition to being educational, has made the initiative accessible to all age groups.
Through All India Radio and Doordarshan, Karnan urged every eligible voter to participate. He added that authorities are arranging support services to ensure smooth access for people with disabilities and older voters.
“Educating youth and first-time voters is essential for a strong democratic foundation. Every vote matters, and ethical participation shapes a better future,” Karnan said.
