Hyderabad: Telangana Minister and Adilabad Congress in-charge Jupally Krishna Rao began Operation Jupally to end the growing factionalism inside the united Adilabad district Congress Party. He personally took charge of settling internal rifts that could weaken the party before the upcoming local body elections.
Jupally Krishna Rao acts to end Adilabad Congress rifts
The minister met senior leaders from ten Assembly constituencies of the erstwhile Adilabad district in Hyderabad. During the meeting, several leaders openly discussed internal disputes in their constituencies. As a result, serious rifts emerged in Adilabad and Asifabad, where multiple groups have long been competing for control.
While Adilabad has three rival factions, Asifabad faces two strong camps. Moreover, in Mudhole, three leaders urged the minister to give tickets to their supporters. Similarly, two leaders in Nirmal reportedly submitted different lists of candidates. Bellampalli and Chennur saw only minor differences, yet the Mancherial MLA privately warned that outsiders should not interfere in his constituency. In contrast, both Sirpur and Boath reported no major disputes, while Khanapur showed only mild disagreements.
Minister warns leaders to maintain unity
Jupally Krishna Rao adopted a firm tone, especially on the Adilabad and Asifabad disputes. He told the leaders that the high command would decide on reconciliation. Furthermore, the minister stressed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was personally reviewing the situation. Therefore, he warned the district unit to work for official Congress candidates and ensure their victory or face consequences.
Ultimately, the minister combined persuasion with warning, urging the leaders to put an end to infighting and act with discipline. Consequently, his Operation Jupally effort has triggered fresh debate within Adilabad Congress circles on whether unity will survive through the local elections.
