Hyderabad: Authorities lifted 44 gates of the Jurala project to release heavy inflows into the Krishna River downstream. The reservoir received an inflow of 3,08,236 cusecs while the outflow stood at 3,09,545 cusecs.
The current water level was recorded at 316.210 meters, against the full reservoir level of 318.116 meters. Storage stood at 6.415 TMC, compared with the full capacity of 9.657 TMC. Officials confirmed that power generation was underway at five units of the hydroelectric station.
Jurala project continues regulated water release
With steady inflows into the reservoir, authorities said regulated discharge would continue to manage levels and ensure downstream flow. The project, a key balancing reservoir on the Krishna, is witnessing high inflows following recent rains in the catchment area.
