Hyderabad: Justice G. Priyadarsini of the Telangana High Court passed away on Sunday afternoon following a brief illness, marking a sudden and solemn moment for the state’s judiciary. She had been unwell for several days prior to her demise.
Hailing from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Justice Priyadarsini began her legal career in 1995, enrolling as an advocate with the Bar Council of the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh. Her judicial career spanned over a decade, during which she served as a judge in multiple districts between 2008 and 2021.
In March 2022, she was elevated to the Telangana High Court as a judge. Before her elevation, she had also served as Secretary of the State Legal Services Authority, where she played a key role in expanding legal aid and promoting access to justice.
Her passing has drawn heartfelt tributes from across the legal fraternity. Judges, advocates, and court staff of the Telangana High Court expressed their condolences, remembering her as a dedicated and compassionate jurist known for her commitment to justice.
