Hyderabad: Justice Sudarshan Reddy, the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Congress-led INDIA bloc, received a warm welcome in Hyderabad on Monday. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, ministers, and senior party leaders greeted him at Taj Krishna Hotel.
Leaders recall Reddy’s judicial contribution
Telangana government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir recalled that Justice Sudarshan Reddy was the first judge to support reservations for socially and educationally backward Muslims in undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2004. Following his directions, the then Congress government reduced the quota from 5 percent to 4 percent to remain within the constitutional ceiling for Scheduled Castes.
Shabbir said Telangana would take pride if Justice Reddy is elected Vice President of India.
