HYDERABAD: Several people were injured in a road accident that occurred in Kadapa city, Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place near the suburban area of Mulavanka, along the Kadapa-Chittoor National Highway.
The accident happened when an auto-rickshaw attempting to cross the road at Mulavanka was struck by a speeding motorbike coming from the Rayachoti side. The severe impact caused the auto-rickshaw to overturn, throwing its passengers onto the road and onto the motorbike, resulting in serious injuries.
Among those injured were two women and a boy travelling in the auto-rickshaw. Reports indicate that the boy’s condition is critical.
Local residents have complained that there are no warning signs to control speed at the curve on the highway, leading to frequent accidents at the spot. They have urged the authorities to implement immediate safety measures to prevent further mishaps.
