Hyderabad: Former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy walked out of Nellore Central Jail on bail after spending 86 days in remand. On Tuesday morning, his wife Kakani Poojita, MLCs Murali and Chandrasekhar Reddy, along with YSR Congress leaders, greeted him outside the prison.
Addressing the media, Kakani charged that political opponents had foisted false cases to push him behind bars. He pointed to seven PT warrants issued against him and dismissed the allegations as fabricated. “Jail terms will not obstruct our mission,” he said, adding that the people of Nellore district remained his greatest strength.
Kakani condemned the attack on former minister Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s residence, calling it deplorable. He also accused Somireddy of unchecked corruption in Sarvepalli and pledged to block the alleged loot. With a sharp tone, he asserted that he was mentally prepared for a long fight against the government.
