Hyderabad: Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao is set to appear before the PC Ghose Commission on Wednesday at 11 a.m., responding to questions over the alleged irregularities in the construction of Kaleshwaram irrigation project.
Originally summoned on June 5, KCR had sought a postponement citing health reasons, prompting the commission to reschedule the hearing to June 11. His appearance comes a day after the commission questioned former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on the same issue.
With the spotlight firmly on KCR, BRS working president K Tarakarama Rao has called on party leaders and cadres to gather in large numbers to express solidarity. Sources say Telangana Bhavan has been buzzing with activity as KTR personally reached out to district leaders to ensure a show of strength at BRKR Bhavan, where the inquiry will take place.
Party insiders hint that the mobilisation plan mirrors the symbolic ‘Sagara Haaram’ protest on Tank Bund during the Telangana movement, with KCR’s supporters expected to line the route from his arrival to his departure.
KCR, sources say, is preparing thoroughly for Wednesday’s session, ready to address queries on the need for the Kaleshwaram project, its redesign, changes in location, water availability, and the construction of key barrages like Medigadda, Sundilla, and Annaram.
He is also said to have met Harish Rao on Monday and again on Tuesday morning, seeking insights into the line of questioning posed by the commission. All eyes are now on what KCR will say in the open court hearing – his answers could shape the political narrative in Telangana in the coming weeks.
