Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Ramchandra Rao demanded a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project and questioned the Congress government’s stance on the ongoing commission report leaks.
Speaking in Peddapalli, Rao dismissed the leaked contents of the commission’s report, stating the party would respond only after the government formally presents it in the Assembly.
He questioned whether the current version of the Kaleshwaram report originated from the government or the Congress party, adding that the BJP had consistently alleged large-scale corruption in the project’s execution.
Rao reiterated that the BJP had long demanded a central agency investigation, arguing that a CBI probe was necessary to expose what he described as systemic graft during the project’s construction phase.
He also targeted the Congress over BC reservation policy, accusing it of lacking sincerity. Rao opposed the inclusion of Muslims in the BC list, claiming it diluted the intent of backward class welfare.
