Hyderabad: Kamareddy police detailed a Kamareddy student theft case after a Maharashtra student, addicted to online gaming, snatched a gold chain from a woman in the town on 11 November.
Police outline Kamareddy student theft case
The woman was at home when the student entered and asked her for drinking water. He then pulled the gold chain from her neck and ran out. A police team noticed a man moving in a suspicious way near the house. They stopped him at once.
During questioning, he admitted that he had taken the chain from the woman. Police identified him as Rohit Dayawar, a student from Maharashtra. The Additional SP briefed reporters on the arrest and the sequence of events. She said officers produced him before a magistrate after the inquiry.
Police recovered a 13-gram gold chain and a Samsung phone from him. Town CI Narahari and the SI took part in the briefing and explained the steps taken during the operation.
