Hyderabad: BRS MLA P. Kaushik Reddy is facing a fresh complaint at the Subedari police station in Warangal over alleged derogatory comments against Dalit and tribal Congress MLAs. Party leaders from the Congress have accused him of targeting Kadiyam Srihari, Nagaraju, and Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka with objectionable remarks.
The complaint states that Kaushik Reddy made the comments during a media interaction shortly after securing bail in a separate case involving allegations of extorting money from a businessman. He had earlier been remanded to judicial custody by Subedari police.
Complainants alleged that Reddy focused only on SC and ST MLAs and made unwarranted accusations, which they said caused offence to members of those communities. The Congress leaders who filed the complaint also belong to SC/ST backgrounds.
They demanded that a case be booked under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The complaint also calls for questioning of other BRS leaders—E. Dayakar Rao, Vinod Kumar, and Vinay Bhaskar—who they claim supported Reddy’s comments.
