Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president and former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha reached Doha on Friday to participate in Kavitha Doha Bathukamma celebrations organised by the organisation’s Qatar chapter.
At Doha International Airport, members of the Telangana Jagruthi Qatar unit gave her a grand reception. Supporters gathered in large numbers, holding placards and raising slogans to welcome their leader.
Promoting Telangana culture abroad
The Bathukamma festivities, a hallmark of Telangana’s cultural identity, have been planned to unite the Telugu diaspora in Qatar. The events aim to celebrate Telangana’s roots and traditions, even while living abroad.
Kavitha will take part in several cultural and community programmes during her visit. Organisers said her presence will help strengthen the cultural bond among overseas Telugus and showcase Telangana’s vibrant traditions on the global stage.
