Hyderabad: Telangana Congress MLC Dr Balmoor Venkat launched a scathing attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), claiming that MLC K. Kavitha’s recent letter had inadvertently revealed the party’s decade-long exploitation while in power. Speaking to the media, Venkat alleged that the letter had laid bare the internal conflicts within the KCR family over the division of wealth amassed during their rule.
He said the letter showed that the KCR-led regime had drained the state’s resources for ten years, with only the Kalvakuntla family benefiting. “The demons around KCR who looted Telangana’s public wealth must now be named,” he demanded, suggesting that Kavitha had effectively admitted to the existence of corrupt elements within her own party.
Venkat accused the previous administration of indebting the state while enriching themselves. “They turned Telangana into a debtor state, but their own family turned into a golden dynasty,” he remarked, framing Kavitha’s words as an unintentional confession of the misgovernance and greed that characterised BRS’s tenure.
The MLC maintained that the public had long suspected large-scale misappropriation during the BRS regime, but Kavitha’s statement had now given it an internal acknowledgment. He reiterated that the Kalvakuntla family bore full responsibility for the alleged misrule and financial mismanagement that plagued the past decade.
