Kavitha questions Revanth Reddy government’s silence on Godavari water lift to Mallanna Sagar

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi founder and former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha criticised the state government for ignoring the Godavari water lift to Mallanna Sagar. She raised the issue on ‘X’ while continuing her Jagruthi Janam Baata Yatra.

Kavitha slams silence on Mallanna Sagar project

Kavitha said she could not understand why the Revanth Reddy government stayed silent. She accused officials of releasing huge volumes of water from Mid Maneru and Lower Maneru into the Godavari instead of sending it to Mallanna Sagar.

She added that the government had a clear chance to fill Mallanna Sagar at low cost but failed to act. Kavitha said Revanth Reddy ignored the plan to lift water through Ananthagiri and Ranganayaka Sagar.

‘Government wasting chance to lift water cheaply’

Kavitha said the current rains offered a good chance to lift water at low cost. If the government missed it, she warned, it would later spend heavily to pump water from Ellampalli to Mid Maneru and then to Mallanna Sagar.

She said the Revanth Reddy government was acting against public interest. Poor planning, she added, was hurting citizens. Kavitha urged the government to act fast and use the available floodwater before it went to waste.
