Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha accused the Congress government of deliberately withholding fee reimbursement dues and pushing colleges into financial crisis. She alleged that officials demanded commissions of up to 20 percent to clear payments, leaving institutions unable to run smoothly.
Kavitha wrote on X that the pending dues had piled up for years because of corruption. She said college managements were struggling to keep institutions open and warned that if closures continued, girl students would lose access to higher education. She attacked the Congress, saying a party that promised “Indiramma Rajyam” was now keeping women away from classrooms.
Bhatti Vikramarka says govt focused on students’ future
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka countered Kavitha’s charge, stating that the government remained committed to protecting every student’s future. He said officials were addressing the concerns of private colleges with responsibility.
On Sunday night, Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials met college managements at Pragathi Bhavan for nearly four hours. The Deputy CM later wrote on Facebook that the talks were positive. He said the government had gained a clear understanding of the problems raised by private colleges and would continue working on solutions.
