Hyderabad: BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruti president K. Kavitha submitted a complaint to the state police chief demanding action against MLC Chintapandu Naveen alias Teenmaar Mallanna over alleged derogatory remarks and a firing incident involving his security personnel.
Kavitha handed the letter to Additional Inspector General (Law & Order) Ramana Kumar at the Telangana DGP office, urging immediate dismissal of Mallanna’s gunmen who allegedly opened fire during a protest outside the Q News office in Medchal.
The protest, led by Jagruti workers, erupted after Mallanna’s recent comments on BC reservations were perceived as a personal dig at Kavitha. What began as a demonstration soon turned chaotic—furniture was smashed and tempers boiled over. In the middle of it, Mallanna’s security reportedly fired warning shots into the air.
The situation has since escalated into a political flashpoint. Both MLCs have now approached the police. In her letter, Kavitha questioned why the gunfire was deemed necessary and suggested the gunmen may have acted under Mallanna’s orders. She’s calling for a full investigation and accountability.
