Hyderabad: Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao is set to appear before the PC Ghose Commission on Wednesday, June 11, in connection with the ongoing inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
BRS sources confirmed that the commission had summoned Rao in his capacity as former chief minister, giving him the opportunity to present his side regarding the charges under scrutiny. Rao is expected to appear before the panel at 11:15 am on Wednesday.
In a notable development, Rao had requested that his testimony be recorded in camera rather than in open court a request the commission granted.
Just a day earlier, former minister Harish Rao also faced questions from the commission, responding to a series of queries posed by Justice PC Ghose. Earlier in the investigation, BJP MP and former state finance minister Eatala Rajender had also appeared before the commission, underscoring the high-profile nature of the inquiry.
Originally, Rao had been scheduled to appear on June 5 but sought an extension, which the commission approved, allowing him to testify on June 11 instead.
So far, the commission has recorded statements from 17 individuals in its investigation into the Kaleshwaram project’s alleged financial and procedural irregularities.
