Hyderabad: Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Saikumar accused BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao of drawing public funds while avoiding his duties as Leader of the Opposition.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Saikumar alleged that KCR collected ₹2.75 lakh per month as Opposition leader for 18 months totalling ₹49.5 lakh without attending a single Assembly session.
He said despite repeated calls by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to participate in legislative proceedings, KCR remained confined to his farmhouse. “KCR has turned into another Seethayya, speaking in riddles but doing nothing,” Saikumar said.
He questioned how someone could draw a salary without discharging responsibilities and added that such liberty likely doesn’t exist for legislators anywhere else in the world.
Saikumar said Telangana effectively lacks an Opposition and demanded that KCR at least attend upcoming Assembly sessions. He also challenged BRS leaders to practice the ethical standards they preach.
“The duty of accountability lies squarely on KCR as the Leader of the Opposition,” he said.
