Achampet: Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Monday took sharp aim at MLC K. Kavitha’s recent description of K. Chandrashekar Rao as a “god surrounded by demons,” questioning how someone surrounded by such forces could be divine in the first place.
Speaking at a foundation-laying ceremony for two power substations in Achampet, Nagarkurnool district, Jupally said, “If the people around KCR are ‘demons’ as Kavitha says, then how can he be called a god? One must choose either he leads them or is led by them.”
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also attended the event, which marked the beginning of construction for 132/33 KV and 33/11 KV substations in the constituency.
Recalling the BRS campaign during the last Assembly elections, Jupally criticised the fearmongering about electricity cuts under Congress rule. “They said there would be darkness and no power if Congress won. But people didn’t fall for those lies they chose development over deception,” he said.
He pointed out that the state was mired in debt during the BRS regime and promised that despite financial strain, the Congress government was delivering on its promises. “We’re not only continuing existing welfare schemes, we’re implementing our six guarantees too,” he said.
The minister listed several ongoing initiatives loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, subsidised rice distribution, integrated schools, BC caste census, and enhanced reservations for BCs as examples of the government’s commitment to inclusive governance.
Jupally also dismissed KCR’s recent statement that watching Congress rule was disheartening. “Is he upset because he lost power? Or because he’s surrounded by the very ‘demons’ his daughter referred to?” he asked with a mocking tone.
He credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy with aligning governance to public aspirations and said the support for Congress from the people was evident. “Unable to digest this, BRS and its social media ecosystem have resorted to mudslinging,” he claimed.
Jupally urged the public not to fall for misinformation, saying the Congress party remained the true safeguard for both state and nation.
