HYDERABAD: Former Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K. Chandrashekar Rao extended his greetings to workers across the state on the occasion of May Day, lauding their unwavering contributions and sacrifices.
In a message issued on 1 May, KCR paid tribute to the labour force, calling their sacrifices “indelible” and vital to the state’s development. He stated that inspired by the spirit of May Day, the then BRS government took several key steps to safeguard the rights and welfare of workers in Telangana.
KCR claimed that these initiatives brought a sense of security to the working class and helped establish Telangana as a model state in terms of industrial progress. Highlighting the state’s proactive approach, he said Telangana’s industrial policies attracted global investment and generated employment opportunities for lakhs of unemployed youth.
The BRS chief also emphasised the state’s commitment to supporting women in the workforce, particularly those in the manufacturing and service sectors, by upholding their rights and ensuring their inclusion.
He further asserted that labourers working in unorganised sectors—including those in Singareni Collieries, auto drivers, and various industrial sectors—were provided comprehensive protection and support under the BRS administration.
